On April 5, 2025, the African Cancer Support Group (ACSG) hosted Nourish to Flourish: A Cooking Workshop Focused on Healthy and Nutritious Meals at 1715 17th Ave SE, Calgary, Alberta. This special event brought together community members for an afternoon of learning, laughter, and connection through the art of healthy cooking.

The workshop offered practical tips on meal preparation, nutritious food choices, and strategies for maintaining healthy eating habits—especially important for individuals navigating cancer, chronic illness, or caregiving responsibilities.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated and made the event so meaningful. A special thank you to our generous sponsors: Petro-Canada, Calgary Foundation, the Alberta Government Ethnocultural Program, ACSG, and The Oladele Foundation. Your support played a vital role in making this workshop possible and accessible to our community.

Seeing our community come together—sharing food, joy, and encouragement—truly reflects our mission of creating safe, supportive spaces for Black cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and families in Calgary and beyond.
